Form Labs = music and audio. We specialize in contemporary, forward-thinking approaches to music production, digital audio, sound design, and personalized education. With an extensive knowledge of music history and styles, we will understand your goals.
In the Services section of our site, you will find information related to our mastering services, as well as other creative and technical offerings: Mixing, Scoring, and Consulting, to name a few.
If you want to learn how to produce music, then the Ableton 101 & Lessons sections are for you. We do offer small group workshops, but our primary educational emphasis is private instruction that is customized to meet your exact needs.
Form Labs founder Brian Jackson is a master teacher, and one of the foremost Ableton Live educators on the planet. One of the very first trainers certified by Ableton, he is the author of three DVD's on Ableton Live for Thomson Publishing, as well as technical editor for the Live 7 & 8 Power! books.

Ableton Live 2 Day workshop at Devotion Gallery in Williamsburg February 27-28. [Feb '10]
The Ableton Live 8 Course Clips DVD is finally out. It features over 5 hours of narrated video tutorials by Form Labs owner Brian Jackson. You can buy it from us for a great price, or order from Amazon.

Ableton Workshops at Devotion Gallery coming soon [Sept '09]Shortly following the release of the Ableton Live 8 Course Clips Master DVD in a month or so, Brian will hold a workshop at the new Devotion Gallery in Williamsburg. This will likely be a 2 day workshop, with space for approximately 15 people. Stay tuned for details. BTW, Brian is the Educational Director for the Gallery.
Live 8 DVD Done [Aug '09]The "Ableton Live Course Clips Master DVD" is done. It includes 55 movie tutorials that run for 5 hours, 15 minutes. It should be out soon and available pretty much everywhere that sells such items. Inquire here for special pricing
There is going to be a DVD release workshop here in Brooklyn, in early fall, that will be open to as many as 15 people. Stay tuned for details

Music Mixing & Mastering [April '09]Form Labs is not just about learning. We also offer affordable, high quality mixing and mastering services. We recently upgraded our monitoring system to a pair of Dynaudio BM12a, and an Adam Sub7.
Pro Tools 8 / Live 8 [Jan '09]Brian is working with Cengage Learning on 3 tutorial DVDs: 2 on Pro Tools 8 and 1 for Ableton Live 8. Look for them later in the year.
