Form Labs = music and audio. We specialize in contemporary, forward-thinking approaches to music production, digital audio, sound design, and personalized education. With an extensive knowledge of music history and styles, we will understand your goals.

In the Services section of our site, you will find information related to our creative and technical offerings: Mixing, Mastering, Scoring, and Consulting, to name a few.

If you want to learn how to produce music, then the Ableton 101 & Lessons sections are for you. We do offer small group workshops, but our primary educational emphasis is private instruction that is customized to meet your exact needs.

Form Labs founder Brian Jackson is a master teacher, and one of the foremost Ableton Live educators on the planet. One of the very first trainers certified by Ableton, he is the author of two DVD's on Ableton Live for Thomson Publishing, as well as technical editor for the Live 7 Power! book.

Form Labs is not just about learning. We also offer affordable, high quality mixing and mastering services. We recently upgraded our monitoring system to a pair of Dynaudio BM12a, and an Adam Sub7.

Pro Tools 8 / Live 8 [Jan '09]

Brian is working with Cengage Learning on 3 tutorial DVDs: 2 on Pro Tools 8 and 1 for Ableton Live 8. Look for them later in the year.

December Workshop [Nov '08]

Another Ableton Live 7 workshop is planned for December 13th & 14th. A new registration page is in the works, but feel free to contact us to get on the list now - as registration is limited to 6 spots.

Ableton Live 7 Intensive [Sep '08]

The Ableton Live 7 workshop is re-scheduled for the weekend of October 25th - 26th. This 2 day, 12 hour intensive workshop is designed for beginner and intermediate level Live users. Advanded workshops are planned for later in the fall. More...

Workshops [June '08]

Starting Fall 2008, Form Labs will offer workshops on Ableton LIve, Pro Tools, Logic, Reason, Sound Design, Reaktor, Laptop Performance and more. To ensure that each participant gets the most out of their experience, workshops are limited to 6 spots. Workshops vary in length, cost, and intensity.
